As we approach the end of this election season, may all God’s People be reminded that our true citizenship is not in America (or any other country) but in God’s Kingdom. Our hope is not found in any candidate or political party; our hope is Jesus Christ.
Whoever wins the White House and whoever takes control of Congress, our role as God’s People is to be salt and light in the world, to proclaim that Jesus is Lord, and to always continue to call our country and our leaders to greater love, peace, mercy, compassion, and justice.
Please join us at First Covenant for a service of prayer and communion on Tuesday, November 8, at 6pm. Before the election results come in, we join together as the Body of Christ to remember our true identity, to remember that God calls us to unity in him, and to pray that we might continue to be salt and light regardless of the election outcomes.
