This Advent season, we as a church want to respond to God's generosity by being generous ourselves, by giving out of our excess to help those in need in our community and around the world. Over the next several weeks, we will be focusing on two projects of generosity:
First, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the food shelf at Faith United Methodist Church. We will accept donations at our church and take these to the food shelf throughout the season.
Second, we would like to give to those in need around the world through Covenant World Relief, an arm of the Covenant Church that works in development, disaster relief, and other projects in many countries around the world. We invite you to make a "soup can bank" with the labels and lids available in the church narthex, to fill these banks with spare change (bills and checks are also accepted!) throughout the next several weeks, and to bring them back on Christmas Eve. The church will collect the money and send one combined check to CWR.
As we celebrate God's generosity to us, may we respond by being generous to our neighbors here in Superior and all around the world.
