In our evangelical culture, we tend to put a lot of emphasis on conversion, a moment of decision to follow after Jesus Christ. And we love to hear stories of radical transformation, about how Christ got ahold of somebody’s heart and it radically changed them and they were never the same again. But perhaps what we pay less attention to is the process of discipleship: the ongoing and life-long journey of being conformed more and more into the image of Christ, the idea that we are never done but God always has something more to do in us.
