Far too often in evangelism it seems we are selling an agenda. We try to get people to become "like us," rather than proclaiming God’s Good News. We seek members for our club rather than declaring a new reality. We threaten rather than invite. We scare with fire and brimstone rather than celebrating God’s abundant, overwhelming love. We seek converts rather than making disciples. We do things for people rather than being their friends.
It's time that we reclaim the E-word and rediscover what it means to be bearers of good Good News.
This week's sermon...from Matthew 28:16-20.
